I've taught meditation at Harvard, the Pentagon, and many of the world's top law firms.

I run Mindfulness for Lawyers, which offers workshops at law firms, law schools, and other legal organizations.

I also run Breathing Room NYC, a free meditation group for people with anxiety.

I offer group workshops, and I'm also happy to answer meditation questions. Drop me a line using the button below.

Simple Methods. Incredible Benefits.

Meditation can bring enormous benefits, even in the midst of our busy lives. Most of the buzz around meditation focuses on stress relief, and it absolutely does that. But the practice offers so much more: a radical happiness that doesn't depend on outward conditions.

Meditation isn't a religion or New Age fluff. It's a simple practice, validated by modern science, that introduces a calmer, more satisfying mode of being.

I teach a simple, powerful meditation style informed by ancient Buddhist methods and modern cognitive science.

My Background

I've been meditating over a decade and have studied with teachers from around the world.

In 2014, the meditation master Culadasa guided me through seven months of silent retreat. After retreat, I moved to New York City, where my meditation practice keeps me from going nuts (more or less).

I'm also a public-interest lawyer, a comic book nerd, and a mediocre but enthusiastic guitarist.

I went to school at Harvard Law School and Brown University. I live in Brooklyn.

Why I'm Certain You Can Meditate

People often tell me their minds are just too wild for meditation, or their lives are too busy. Not true.

I have ADHD, and I used to get thrown out of class because I couldn't sit still or stay focused. I juggle teaching, writing, and working as a lawyer in New York City. If I can meditate, anyone can.

Meditation helped me go from ADHD screw-up to Harvard Law School graduate. It keeps me sane and happy in a city and profession that don't always make it easy. It offers me insight into my own mind. It makes me nicer to the people around me. Meditation is awesome. Want to try it?

Meditation for Modern People

My mission is to help people experience the deepest benefits of meditation while living a full, engaged life.

We live in the modern world, and we like it that way. We have jobs, hobbies, and people we love. We're not interested in abandoning everything to live like monks. The good news is we don't have to.

The radical happiness of meditation is close at hand, whether you live in a Tibetan monastery (I'm guessing you don't) or a big city, like me. We just need to practice in a way that lets our meditation and daily activities feed one another rather than fight one another. That's what I teach.
